Perfect place for fishing, hiking and enjoying peaceful nature. I recommend to take Filip as you fishing guide and he will do that perfectly. You can get really big fish here in Gjesvaer. Will definatelly come again. - Laura, guest in June 2022
Northcape Nature is a camp for fishing and nature experiences in the fishing village Gjesvær by the North Cape in Finnmark.
We are at 71 * North - as far as you can travel at Europe's mainland.
In 2012 Gjesvær recieved the price "Norway's best travel destination" from the official tourist organization of Norway: Innovasjon Norge.
The stay is an experience in itself. You live in a typical Norwegian style "rorbu" in the middle of an active fishing village with the fjords and skerries, the open Barents sea, and the hills and mountains right outside the door.
At the camp, we have our rental boats on our own pier. New this year is that we have a sauna, hot tub, barbecue hut and outdoor kitchen!
In the winter, you can experience the Northern Lights - the Aurora Borealis.
And in the summer, you can experience the Midnight Sun.
The iconic birdmountain Gjesværstappan is home to millions of seabirds, 10-15 minutes boat ride from our camp. Whales, porpoises and seals are often seen.
For anglers, there are halibut, salmon, cod, coal fish, haddock and wolf fish in the sea, as well as char in the inland lakes close to Gjesvær.
For families on holidays, there are plenty of experiences for an adventurous holiday in nature.
